I'd spent seven years studying up north, finished grad school, and worked for two years. Now, I'd quit my job and come back for two reasons. First, my parents were getting older, and I wanted to be close to them.

Second, Cousin Mark was getting married, and the whole family was buzzing with excitement. I figured it was the perfect time to start over.

Harbor City was my hometown. The weather was humid, and life moved at a relaxed pace. It was the kind of place where you could really live.
