For the first time, I put my feelings ahead of Jonathan's.

It felt kind of fresh.

And it felt pretty damn good.

Less than ten minutes after I sent in my resignation email, Jonathan called.

"Are you at the office?" he asked.

"Yeah," I replied.

"Come to my office. Now."

"If you have something to say, say it over the phone."

"Evelyn," he said, his voice low and dangerous, already on the verge of losing it. "Don't make me say it again."

Normally, I'd give in whenever he got like this.

But this time, I said flatly, "I'm still wrapping…
