Chapter 1
My husband, Gordon, thought my Android phone couldn't view Live Photos.
So he boldly posted a sweet live picture with another woman on his social media.
I stared at the screen, couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Wasn't that Cassidy Fisher, the poor student Gordon had encouraged me to sponsor?
With the money I gave her for books, she bought an iPhone, seduced my man, and even had the nerve to show up on my social media feed.
I thought about leaving a sarcastic comment wishing them a happy eternity together.
But it didn't feel satisfying enough. So instead, I contacted the supervisor at Cassidy's company.
On the call, I said, "Your new intern secretary is stealing my husband."
After saying that, I hung up and blocked them all.

When I got home from the hospital, not a soul was in sight in the living room.
But laughter was drifting out from the study.
I walked closer and saw Gordon and Cassidy sitting closely together, looking at something on his phone.
Cassidy kept glancing up at Gordon, her eyes practically shining with admiration and dependence.
My heart tightened. This scene filled me with an unprecedented sense of unease.
I pushed the door open gently, and the sound startled them.
Cassidy jumped to her feet, an awkward smile stretching across her face.
"Oh, you're home. Sorry, I was just asking Gordon about some work stuff and completely lost track of time. Haven't started dinner yet," she said sweetly.
She mouthed an apology, but her whole expression screamed provocation.
I stared coldly at Cassidy, whom I had sponsored for years. She seemed like a completely different person now. I didn't respond. Instead, I turned and went to my room.
"Jenna, go make dinner," Gordon ordered, his voice icy.
That cold, familiar voice from behind made my whole back stiffen up.
I slowly turned around, disbelief flickering in my eyes. "Gordon, what did you say?"
Gordon's brows furrowed slightly, seeming a bit impatient with my reaction.
"Go make dinner. I want to taste your cooking tonight," he said.
"And make enough for three," he added.
Since marrying Gordon, I could count the number of times I had set foot in the kitchen on one hand.
Come to think of it, the only time was when he was sick.
At that time, he couldn't eat anything, and I was so worried that I decided to cook soup for him myself.
But because I was so clueless, I nearly blew up the kitchen.
Even while he was sick, Gordon rushed into the kitchen, wrapping me up in a tight hug, his eyes rimmed red with worry.
"Let's just hire a maid or someone who can cook for us from now on. I don't want you anywhere near the kitchen. If the place explodes, fine—but if you ever got hurt, I'd seriously lose it," he said.
Yet now, he was demanding that I cook for him.
I was still reeling from the shock when Gordon clicked his tongue impatiently. "What are you standing there for?"
Cassidy's lips curled into a smug smile as she put her phone away, walked over, and looped her arm through mine, her voice full of pride.
"Hey Jenna, you know how it goes—if you want a guy to fall for you, you have to win over his stomach first. Look at me—I bagged my boyfriend because my cooking's unbeatable," she said.
As soon as Cassidy finished speaking, a glint of amusement flashed in Gordon's eyes as he lounged on the couch.
But all I felt was a deeper chill settling in my chest.
Cassidy yanked me into the kitchen, dumped a pile of ingredients on the counter, and strutted around barking orders, treating me like her own personal chef.
