The Slap That Ruined Her

Synopsis

My sister-in-law stormed into the office and slapped me hard across the face in front of hundreds of employees. She jabbed a finger in my face. "You're nothing but my brother's charity case! Stop acting like you own the place!" My father-in-law, the company chairman, sat nearby. His face was livid, and he was just about to rip into me for making a public mockery of the family name. Instead of reacting, I calmly smoothed my hair and met his gaze. "Dad, haven't you ever wondered?" I asked evenly. "Look at her acting like a rabid animal. Does she really seem like a part of this family?" "I highly recommend getting a DNA test. You wouldn't want to spend the rest of your life funding another man's mistake." "After all, a true heiress wouldn't be caught dead throwing a trashy public tantrum." Seeing the blood instantly drain from my sister-in-law's face, I knew the entire family dynamic was about to shatter. My father-in-law froze, his eyes turning terrifyingly icy. Three days later, the DNA results came back. My once high-and-mighty sister-in-law was dragged out the front doors by security and tossed to the curb like the trash she was.
