Chapter 5
The chat went absolutely silent in shock.
[What the heck? That speed? Is ScarlettWestSurvivalSkills unlocked or something?]
[Did I see that right? Is that really the spoiled princess?]
[Wait, the psycho side character is actually a survival boss? Plot twist.]
Scarlett didn't stop. She headed straight into the woods, using her inherited plant knowledge to quickly pick out edible wild fruit and coconuts.
She even found fresh spring water in a rocky crevice and filled up the empty water bottle the production team had given her.
All in all, it took Scarlett just forty minutes to finish every task. Carrying wild fruit and her water bottle, she strolled back to the beach, leaned against her own shelter, and started snacking on the fruit, looking completely relaxed.
Meanwhile, Ethan and Vivian's shelter was still wobbling and about to fall apart. Vivian sat on the ground, her face scrunched up in defeat. "Ethan, I'm so tired. I can't do this anymore."
Zoey and Summer's shelter had totally collapsed, and the two of them were swearing and complaining loudly, pissed off beyond belief.
Michael Chancellor had just managed to finish his shelter, but he was still out searching for water and food.
Everyone else was still struggling, Scarlett was the only one who nailed the challenge.
The number of viewers in the livestream skyrocketed to three million, and the chat was blowing up so fast it was practically crashing the screen.
[Scarlett is the absolute GOAT. This is insane.]
[The plot twist came out of nowhere. I'm a fan now.]
[Where are all the haters from before? Come out and apologize.]
[Psycho beauty + survival boss? I'm totally here for this.]
[Scarlett West Survival Skills] shot straight to the top of the trending list, blowing past even the red carpet drama.
The production team was over the moon backstage. They immediately started giving Scarlett close, ups, practically welding the camera to her.
Ethan stared at Scarlett, completely dumbfounded. He couldn't believe it, 'This was the same Scarlett who used to need him to open her water bottles, and now she was out here crushing it in the wild like some survival queen?'
Vivian totally forgot to play the victim. She looked at Scarlett, her eyes practically burning with envy. 'Why her? Why does that evil supporting character get all the spotlight?' Vivian was losing her mind with jealousy.
Scarlett finished munching on her wild fruit, wiped her hands, and smirked at Ethan and Vivian. "Still not done? Guess having your head stuck in romance doesn't ruin your hustle, it screws up your survival too."
Vivian's face went bright red. She just bit her lip and stayed silent. Ethan's face darkened, but he couldn't say a thing, Scarlett had pulled off what they couldn't even manage.
Michael Chancellor walked over to Scarlett's shelter, gave it a good look, and couldn't help but praise her. "Wow, kid, this is some next, level stuff. Honestly, your building skills are better than the pros."
Scarlett raised an eyebrow. "No big deal. Being hungry is the worst, so if you're cool with it, I might share some wild fruit with you later."
Zoey and Summer rushed over, their old attitude gone, faces full of flattery. "Scarlett, you're awesome. Can you show us how it's done?"
Scarlett just smirked, neither agreeing nor refusing, her wild streak still showing. "Depends on my mood. Don't annoy me, and you might get something to eat."
[Scarlett is such a badass. I freaking love her.]
[From now on, Scarlett is my queen.]
[Vivian and Ethan got their faces slapped. So satisfying.]
When the two, hour countdown hit zero, the director grabbed the megaphone and made it official: "Scarlett's the only one who nailed the challenge. She gets all the dinner rations. Everyone else, sorry, you're going hungry tonight."
Vivian broke down on the spot, tears streaming as she turned to the camera, her voice trembling. "I swear, I really did everything I could." Ethan looked downright defeated, but all he could do was awkwardly try to comfort Vivian.
Scarlett grabbed the dinner rations, bread, ham, and bottled water, from the production team and sauntered into her shelter.
She waved at the camera with a sly grin. "Goodnight, folks. Time for me to feast. As for you hungry souls, hope you survive the night."
With that, she closed the door to her shelter, leaving the other guests in shambles outside and the livestream chat going absolutely wild.
Meanwhile, a private helicopter landed quietly near Southshore Island. The door swung open, and out stepped a tall, cold man, none other than the superstar, Lucas Reed.
He watched Scarlett on the screen, her wild and cool energy making his lips curl into a subtle smirk.
"Interesting," he muttered.
His assistant stepped up. "Mr. Reed, the production team has you scheduled as a special guest. You'll be joining the livestream tomorrow."
Lucas nodded, his eyes fixed on Scarlett's livestream. "No need to wait until tomorrow. Let's go now."
