Chapter 1
Chapter 1 The Script Doesn't Know Her
"Scarlett West. Stop right there." A shrill female voice rang in Scarlett's ears.
She had just opened her eyes when someone shoved her, making her stumble forward a couple of steps.
She found herself backstage, the floor covered in red carpet and swarming with reporters. Every camera was pointed at her, the flashbulbs blinding.
A woman in a white gown, her makeup making her look extra pitiful, stared at Scarlett with teary eyes. "Scarlett, I know you don't like me, but you can't shove me in front of everyone on the red carpet."
Behind her stood a man in a designer suit, his gaze icy as he glared at Scarlett, his voice dripping with disgust. "Scarlett, apologize to Vivian."
Scarlett's mind was ringing as the memories of the body's previous owner came flooding in.
She'd transmigrated into a novel, a book called Star Wife: The Actor's Muse, as the villainess Scarlett West.
The woman in front of her was the novel's heroine, Vivian Lynn. The oblivious guy standing there was the male lead, her arranged fiancé, and top idol, Ethan Cooper.
Just a few minutes ago, the original Scarlett saw Ethan being all sweet and attentive to Vivian, and jealousy totally took over.
She shoved Vivian right on the red carpet, making her stumble in front of everyone, and of course, the reporters caught it all on camera.
Now, [Scarlett West Incident], [Scarlett Villain], and [Scarlett Leaves Showbiz] were dominating the top three spots on the trending list. The whole internet was roasting her, calling her toxic, shameless, and a bully.
Because of this mess, the original Scarlett got slapped with the "psycho" label, and her career in showbiz went downhill from there. In the end, she lost everything, her reputation, her family, her life.
Scarlett pressed her fingers to her brow, trying to steady the chaos in her mind, then looked up at Vivian and Ethan.
"Scarlett, I don't blame you. You just care about Ethan too much." Vivian was still crying, her voice gentle and sweet.
"Scarlett, stop making a scene and apologize." Ethan frowned, his voice even colder.
The reporters around them were all holding out their microphones, waiting for Scarlett to lose it and apologize, hoping to catch something even more explosive on camera.
According to the original plot, Scarlett would have a meltdown right on the spot, get into a screaming match with Vivian, and Ethan would end up completely disgusted with her, cementing her image as a total psycho.
But now, Scarlett was the one standing here. She was a modern, day office worker who lived by the motto: 'When in doubt, just go wild.'
Scarlett lifted her gaze, a crazy grin curling at her lips. She stepped right up to Vivian, closing the gap between them. Vivian visibly flinched at Scarlett's stare, instinctively taking a step back.
Scarlett scoffed, her voice low but loud enough for the microphones to catch.
"Why are you crying? I didn't even push you hard enough to knock you out. It's just a minor bruise, but you're acting like you got run over.
"Vivian, with those acting skills, it's a shame you're not winning Best Actress."
Her words made the whole place go dead silent. The reporters were dumbfounded, totally at a loss.
Ethan was completely floored, gaping at Scarlett. "Scarlett, what did you say?"
Scarlett turned to him, her eyes completely devoid of any affection, just pure disgust.
"Ethan, are you blind or something? Can't you see she's putting on a show? And don't call me Scarlett. It makes my skin crawl.
"Arranged marriage? Call it off. I have zero interest in being tied to a hopeless romantic like you for life."
With that, she shoved Ethan out of her way, ignoring the stunned looks from everyone, and strode out without looking back.
Just as she reached the door, her phone rang. It was the director of Wild Survival Live calling.
"Scarlett. What the hell are you doing? The red carpet mess has gone viral. The company made the call, you have to join our live reality show. This is your only chance to clear your name.
"Be at the airport at eight sharp tomorrow morning. If you don't show up, you'll owe us 30 million dollars in penalties. Figure it out yourself."
The director's voice was practically shaking with rage, Scarlett's antics had him fuming. Even hearing this, Scarlett paused, and spoke with a lazy, wild edge.
"Clear my name? Why would I even want to? "Yeah, I pushed her. So what? I wanted to."
"I'll do your show, but let me warn you, don't force me to play the sob story, and don't expect me to act all sweet. If you try, I'll lose it live and wreck your whole show."
Director: "Huh?"
Scarlett hung up, looked up at the sky. The sunlight was blinding, but her smile was even more dazzling.
Transmigrated into a book as the villainess? Hated by the entire internet? Livestream reality show?
Bring it on. I was ready to go full crazy and fight her way through showbiz, no matter what it took.' Scarlett thought.
Meanwhile, the livestream had already kicked off early, and a horde of haters were camped out in front of their screens, waiting for Scarlett to make a fool of herself.
[Here we go. The psycho villainess Scarlett is joining Wild Survival Live.]
[Waiting for her to break down and beg for forgiveness, and for the other guests to freeze her out.]
[Scarlett, get out of showbiz. Don't pollute our eyes.]
[Has the production team lost their minds? Inviting someone like her, aren't they afraid the stream will get swarmed by haters?]
Scarlett glanced at the live chat on her phone, her grin only getting wider.
