Chapter 1
I had just transmigrated into the body of Lucien Martel, the good-for-nothing heir of the King of Spalor.
And right there, at the engagement ceremony, my fiancée, Eleanor Ashford, dumped me in front of everyone.
Eleanor said loudly, "Lucien, I love Oswin. Now that he's back, there's not a chance I'm marrying you. I'm calling off our engagement!"
Oswin Fletcher, the so-called Chosen One, brandished his sword at me, his eyes cold with threat.
"Lucien, if you refuse, mark my words. One day, I'll slaughter every last member of the Martel family!" he spat.
The original Lucien was a hopeless simp for Eleanor. He would've laid down his life for her without a second thought.
Everyone expected me to just agree and let them go, certain I'd cave like always.
But I spoke up. "Very well. You dare insult the Martel family in front of everyone? Then execute them all on the spot!"

At the Martel family's engagement ceremony, when Oswin, the so-called chosen one, walked in, the whole place went dead silent.
Eleanor shot to her feet and shouted at me, "Lucien, I don't love you at all."
She continued, "If the Martel family hadn't strong-armed the Ashford family, there's no way I would've ever agreed to marry you.
"Oswin has always been the one I love. From this moment on, our engagement is over!"
Oswin, the so-called Chosen One, brandished his sword at me, his eyes cold with threat.
He spat, "Lucien, if you refuse, mark my words. One day, I'll slaughter every last member of the Martel family!"
I'd just landed in this novel as Lucien, still feeling pretty out of it and trying to make sense of what was going on.
But I quickly figured out the whole setup of the story.
Lucien was nothing but a background character. He was a complete loser, no question about it.
He was crazy in love with Eleanor, the heroine.
In the original story, just to make Eleanor happy, Lucien not only stepped aside and let her be with Oswin but even handed over piles of resources to help them grow stronger.
The moment Oswin became a Sword Sage, he stormed the Martel Manor with the Ashford family at his side.
The entire Martel Manor was wiped out to the last man.
Meanwhile, Oswin and Eleanor went on to live the dream, like gods among mortals.
When I read that part, I was so pissed I started cursing up a storm.
The next thing I knew, I was inside the damn story myself.
With my fiery temper, there was no way I was letting this slide. I gave Eleanor a hard slap across the face.
I yelled, "Damn it! Every damn resource your Ashford family ever got was from the Martel family!
"And now you want to break off the engagement in front of everyone, just to embarrass the Martel family? I was way too nice to you, wasn't I, you slut?"
Eleanor clutched her red, swollen cheek, staring at me in utter disbelief.
"Lucien, you actually hit me? All those times you said you loved me. Was that all just for show?" Eleanor demanded.
She added, "You always said you'd do anything to make me happy! I'm just breaking off the engagement. Did you really have to go this far?"
Oswin was totally thrown off. 'Wait, this isn't how the script is supposed to go...' he thought.
The guests started whispering among themselves.
"Is Eleanor out of her mind? Lucien's got it all. He's top-tier family, talent, and looks. And she's dumping him?"
"Lucien spoiled Eleanor rotten. Whatever she wanted, he gave it to her, and the Ashford family could take all the resources they wanted. And she still doesn't appreciate it?"
"Exactly, she even went so far as to humiliate the Martel family in front of everyone. She must be crazy."
"Honestly, the old Prince Lucien would've just rolled over and agreed to anything. But now? It's like he's a whole new guy..."
I glanced at Oswin and Eleanor, my eyes filled with chilling indifference.
"Guards of Spalor, step forward!" I commanded.
Rowan Blackmere, the head of the Martel family guards, dropped to one knee.
"What are your orders, Your Highness?" he asked.
I commanded, "Arrest them all. If they resist, kill them on the spot!"
"Yes, Your Highness!" Rowan replied.
In an instant, a swarm of guards rushed forward, quickly subduing everyone in the room.
Oswin stepped in front of Eleanor, shielding her with his body.
"Lucien, have you lost it? You're really going to hurt Eleanor just because of this?" Oswin shouted.
They just slapped the Martel family's reputation in public, and these idiots still think it's just a minor thing? Was everyone in this damn story an idiot?
If I didn't finish them off now, was I supposed to just sit around and wait for them to get strong enough to wipe out the Martel Manor?
Eleanor shouted, "Lucien, you always go on about loving me, but this is how you treat me? Lucien, I can't believe you! All you ever wanted was to keep me for yourself!
"If you really loved me, wouldn't you want me to be happy, even if it's not with you? This isn't love. It's just obsession!"
What the hell kind of logic was that? This novel really was tailored for girls.
Eleanor snapped, "Listen up, Lucien! If you don't let us walk out of here right now, don't even think about us ever being friends again!"
