Russell looked as shocked as I felt. His eyes widened before that familiar control descended over his face.

“What the hell are you doing in here?” I demanded.

My voice came out breathless. I snatched my towel from the floor and dragged it around myself, fumbling twice before I managed to cover my body.

“Taking a shower.” His voice was steady, but rougher than usual.

“In the dark?”

“The light was making my head worse.”
