Chapter 2
Ella notices and hands me the sharpie with a wink.
We fall into our routine and the three of us chat about what we went through today.
Ella is about to tell us about this crazy customer she had to deal with before the two of us came today, but then she falls silent.
Taylor rolls her eyes and walks over to the other end of the counter to make a drink for another customer.
Ella stares at the door and I look back to see what's got her attention.
A pretty attractive guy walks up to the counter and quickly tells Ella his order and his name.
I grab a cup and write it down, and just to be funny, I spell it wrong.
On social media everyone complains about their names being spelled wrong and sometimes I'll do it to easy names just for laughs.
Ella makes his drink and he quickly leaves without even a thank you, continuing the conversation he was having on the phone.
"There goes another one, just Ella's type, hot and rude," Taylor jokingly announced as she passed by us to grab a cup.
I laugh and Ella elbows Taylor while telling her to shut up.
He was pretty cute, I'll admit.
When their shifts finally end, we finally head back to the apartment and I immediately shower like I always do when I come home.
Once that's done, I go out to the living room and sit down on the couch next to Ella who is currently ordering pizza.
"Yes, definitely extra cheese and pepperoni, and on the other one can you do extra mushrooms?
And then can I get the cheesy breadsticks and the regular breadsticks.
Yes I want the two for one on both.
No, I'm not eating four things of breadsticks and two large pizzas on my own.
Thank you!" By the end, I'm laughing and she looks at me and then starts laughing too.
Taylor comes in not too much later and sits on the other side of Ella.
She grabs the remote and pulls up StreamFlix on the tv.
We scroll through for a few minutes and decide on a cheesy romance that we can watch together.
When the pizza comes, we stuff our faces while crying to the sappy love story playing.
And when that one is over, we watch another.
We love a good girls night.
I wake up with a foot and pizza crust on my face.
I quickly push the foot off and toss the crust onto a random pizza box.
I try getting up without waking up either of them and I manage to successfully do so.
I quietly walk to my room and go over to charge my dead phone that somehow ended up inside my leggings just under my knee.
I turn it on and see that it's eight o'clock.
And then I do a double take.
I ran into the living room screaming.
"Wake up!
We're gonna be late!"
Taylor and I both have a nine a.m. class together and Ella has her spinning class at the gym then, too.
They both get up and I hurry back into my room so I can change into some presentable clothes.
Once I'm changed and have taken care of hygiene, I grab my bag and phone and head into the living room.
The two of them enter soon after and we all head out to Ella's car.
She drops us off at the university and drives off.
We manage to get to our class with a few minutes to spare and I sigh in relief once I'm sitting in the chair.
But when I go to check my phone, it dies.
Shit.
The rest of the day pretty much goes by just like the morning.
When I went to eat lunch, I managed to drop salsa on my jeans, and the stain didn't come out.
Later on, I ripped the same jeans when they got caught on a door frame, so now there's a flap on the side, nearly showing my underwear.
I also stepped on gum on my way to the coffee shop.
Now I'm sitting in a booth studying, hoping nothing else happens here.
Luckily tomorrow is my last day of classes and then the weekend will grace me with its beauty and I can relax before finals.
After a while of endless studying, I decided to get into the short line and order.
I can feel myself fading fast.
"You look like shit, Al," Ella bluntly stated when I got up to the counter.
"Thanks," I replied, not amused.
When she hands me my drink, I turn to go back to my table and nearly run into a person behind me.
"I'm so sorry," I quickly apologized to the person.
When their face registers in my mind, I realize it's the cute guy from yesterday.
Without a word, he walks away and I hear him respond to whoever he's talking to on the phone.
Okay, that was rude.
I quickly made sure I didn't spill any coffee on my clothes, because that is the last thing I needed today.
When I see I'm all clear, I head back to my table and continue to study.
I cannot wait to go home and sink into my bed, today has been quite stressful.
Friday goes by way smoother than yesterday, and I'm glad because it's the last official class of the semester and I really didn't want anything bringing me down today.
Ella and I are doing our usual when Pretty Boy walks in. That's what Ella has started calling him in fear of if she says his name too much he might appear out of nowhere.
Since I have control of the pen, I write down a new way to spell his name wrong that I thought of while in class earlier today.
After writing it down, I mentally pat myself on the back for it.
Ella notices and she sends me a quick glare as she gets his change out of the register.
When she goes to make his drink, I boredly sit there and wait for her to finish so we can continue discussing our weekend plans.
When she does, he leaves and she slaps my arm from across the counter.
"Ow!" I exclaimed while rubbing the area.
"You can't just go around spelling hot guys' names wrong, Al!" she practically yelled, sparing me no sympathy.
"Why not?
It's fun," I defend, still cradling my arm.
"His name isn't Nathen, it's Nathan, N-A-T-H-A-N.
You're a grad student, you'd think you would know how to spell."
I roll my eyes and laugh, amused by how seriously she's taking this.
"They both sound the same to me." That comment earns me another hard punch to my arm.
When her shift ends, we head back to the apartment to find Taylor on the couch with a bowl full of spaghetti.
Ella and I rush to the kitchen to get some and she nearly kills me along the way.
I glare at the back of her head as I wait for her to finish filling up her bowl.
Once she's done, I follow suit and find my way to the couch next to Taylor and begin eating while she channel surfs.
The three of us eat in silence and when we're finished, I load the dishwasher and head to the bathroom.
When I go back into the living room I see Ella and Taylor in the kitchen with several bottles of alcohol and margarita mix.
Taylor pulls out the blender and they set everything up while I watch them in shock.
I literally just did the dishes...
They proceed to make the margaritas and all is forgiven when they pour me one and I take a sip.
Ella makes the best margaritas.
Taylor, drink in hand, connects her phone to the tv and begins playing music.
We all dance and drink for a while before deciding to watch rom-coms.
It's basically the three of us yelling at the people on tv to not do stupid stuff with their love lives, but they end up doing it anyways and it leads to even more yelling.
If these people just listened to us for once, they wouldn't be doing the stupid shit they're doing and then their hearts wouldn't be broken.
Shows them.
