Chapter 7

By the time Jennifer left the Hunter family, night had already fallen.

She wandered down the empty streets of town, all the shops shut tight, with only a few lanterns flickering in the wind.

She had no idea where to go next. 'Should I head back to the mountain? Come again in three days? But where am I supposed to find another three silver coins?' Jennifer thought.

'Geoffrey's sword was already pawned, and almost everything valuable at home had been sold. Is there anything left I can sell?'

As she walked, Jennifer suddenly stopped.
