Chapter 8

“What are you kidding?” Martin asked with a raised brow.

Julia could not believe her ears.

“Take her, if you want to walk out of here in pain.”

Don said, his head still buried in the paper.

“You're really selfish, you know,” he added while scanning the lady in front of him, “I would have loved to have a taste of her.”

“Get out of my office right now!” Don shouted loudly.

Martin, seeing how angry he was, quietly walked out, not forgetting to give Julia a 'see you soon' look.

“Has Marcello told you already?” Don's voice boomed, bringing Julia back to reality.

“Tell me what?” she asked inquisitively.

Don raised his head from the book, “You will be my personal servant, did Marcello not tell you that?”

“No, he didn't.”

“That son-of-a-bitch!” he spat out.

“I have no intention of being your servant.” Julia blurted out before biting her lips, she was unaware of what she had just said.

“What did you just say?” he asked, his eyes transfixed on her face.

“Nothing,” she said, quietly.

“Good. You will do as I say and I would not tolerate any nuisance from you. Is that taken?” he asked.

“Yes–”

“–boss,” he interrupted.

Julia glued her saliva, “Yes, boss.”

“How dare he tell me to be his servant!” Julia asked herself when she got to her room.

She laid in the bed, staring at the ceiling and tried to think of all the things he had said.

She was expected to suspend whatever she was doing and serve him whenever he needed her.

Julia rolled her eyes and scoffed.

It was high time she executed her escape and it was going to be tonight. She assured herself.

When Julia had left his study room, Don smirked.

His men had begun to notice his differential treatment towards the new girl and soon Don had assumed, they too would soon lose their respect for him.

So he had thought of a plan to put her in a situation where she would give her respect to him, one that would make her submissive.

And being his personal servant would do just that. She would serve him directly and he would not tolerate any mistake from her.

His lips twitched as he wondered if it would all work out seeing that Julia is quite bold. But he soon shook the thought away. He was the leader and no one dared to go against him.

So he thought.

It was 1 am in the morning. The exact time Julia has planned to execute her plan. It was also the time when the guards would take a stroll round the environment.

Looking out into the garden, the whole place was deserted. Soon, she caught sight of a guard, he walked past the garden and towards the front of the building.

This was the time, she thought, as she gently crossed the window and jumped out, landing on the soft carpet grass below her. She had already mapped out her escape route.

As she looked up into her room, she could not imagine the height she had just jumped from.

“At least I can put my acrobatics to good use.” she said as she sneaked slowly past the other windows.

On getting to the garage, she waited and peeped closely at the guard on stand. He would walk from one end to the other end but due to the darkness, Julia wondered if he would see her run past him.

Well, her luck was about to be tested as she ran slowly, making sure to not make a noise. She now felt like a thief running for his life, only that she wasn't a thief, but a servant.

What would happen to her if she got caught? she asked herself, but there was no time to think about it.

Her safety was all she needed now.

When she had almost reached the gate, she smiled, not until she tripped and fell to the ground letting out a little cry.

Then she heard someone pull a trigger as he approached.

“Who are you?” He asked, pointing the gun directly at her forehead.
