When I opened my eyes, the sterile scent of the pack’s healing center filled my lungs. Dr. Elliot Harrison, our pack’s Healer, stood by my bedside, his expression grave as he conducted a thorough examination.

“Healer Harrison, what’s my condition?” I asked, my voice trembling despite my efforts to steady it. The sinking feeling in my chest only deepened as I watched the worry crease his brow.

“We’ll do everything we can to treat you, Ellis,” he replied cautiously, his tone measured. “But given your current state… you should brace yourself for the worst.”
