The Last Boy on Earth

Synopsis

In a dying Earth, humanity's last hope is a fleet of ships bound for distant civilizations. Orphans Leroy and Cole have only each other until the final evacuation, when Cole sneaks back to retrieve a forgotten gardening book, missing the ship. Leroy watches from orbit as the ship's radio signal fades, knowing Earth's oxygen will run out by morning. But through static, Cole's voice breaks through. They share last words, a lullaby, and a promise: Leroy will come back to get him. Years later, on a distant planet, Leroy has built a greenhouse of roses for Cole. He still hasn't grown up. Because growing up means stopping wonder. And as long as he wonders if Cole is still out there, looking up at the same stars, he remains that happy little boy.
