"Legs feel like jelly?" Ethan's voice came from above me.

I looked up to see him watching me, a smile playing on his lips.

"Not at all," I retorted. "I was an athlete, remember? I have stamina."

"Is that so?" he asked and raised an eyebrow. Then, in one smooth motion, he bent down and swept me up into his arms.

"Hey!" I yelped, instinctively wrapping my arms around his neck. "What are you doing? We're in public!"

"But Mrs. Shaw has such great stamina. Surely she doesn't need me to carry her?" he teased, walking steadily towards the parking…
