Chapter 5

Downstairs, Richard and James were both still there. The moment they saw me dragging my suitcase down, both their expressions changed. "Where are you going?" James asked first.

"Leaving." I said.

"If you walk out now, it'll only make things uglier." He said.

"The Grant family has uglier days coming." I pulled my suitcase toward the door and looked back at him. "When that happens, remember not to ask me why."

Richard said in a low voice, "Stop right there." I didn't stop walking.

"If you dare walk out that door today, then don't expect to get a single thing…
