Logan stood next to Janet, his gaze filled with tenderness and worry.

When he noticed me, a hint of unease flashed across his face.

He said, "We could've had the maid make it, but Janet insisted she wanted you to make the pudding.

"She's young, and it's her first pregnancy, so she's a bit pampered. Please be patient with her."

I didn't respond.

The moment I stepped into the kitchen, I caught a smug look in Janet's eyes.

She thought she'd won.

But honestly, I couldn't care less.

Once the pudding was ready, I brought it over to her.
