Chapter 5

It was 9:30 AM when the plane touched down in Miami.

Sunlight poured through the glass ceiling of the arrivals hall, stinging my tired eyes.

I squinted, dragging my suitcase with my good hand.

Near the exit, someone was holding up a sign that read:

Charlotte Mitchell.

I walked over.

The man holding the sign was young, dressed in a sharp black suit. He gave a polite nod.

"Ms. Mitchell? Mr. Anderson sent me to pick you up. The car is right outside."

I followed him out.

Before getting into the car, I glanced back at the terminal.
