I bit my lip, clutching my phone as it buzzed nonstop with notifications. A chill ran down my spine as I watched message after message pop up.

I was scared that at the last moment, Patricia and Rebecca would burst in and try to stop me—or worse, flip the script and accuse me of filing a false report.

Without missing a beat, I whipped out the evidence and swore up and down, "No way I'm mistaken, officer. This morning, Keith confessed it himself. He was determined to turn himself in. I couldn't have stopped him even if I tried."
