Chapter 5

I remembered last night, when I left Charles's apartment, I had glanced at my phone.

It was 10:15 p.m. I hailed a taxi ride, and as soon as I got in, my phone froze and shut down.

To check my suspicion, I hurriedly pulled up the ride app to see the order time.

Sure enough, it was just after ten.

Mike had sent me messages around the same time. Was it a coincidence, or was I overthinking?

I checked the app again for the arrival time. Surprisingly, it matched almost exactly the timestamp of Mike's "Did you get home?" message.
