After leaving the seventeenth floor, I didn't go home.

I got in my car, gathered up the mortgage appointment slip I'd photographed, the apartment info, and all the payment records, then filed for an emergency freeze on the property.

Only after that did I go back to my old apartment to collect more proof and supporting documents.

The old cabinet with the cracked door that James made was sitting right there in the living room.
