Later, I found out that when the doctor handed Charles that list of instructions, he went over it three times.

The first one was: [The patient can't tell when someone close is being sarcastic or just angry, and will treat any direct request as something she absolutely has to do.]

The second one was: [Don't use phrases like "get out," "don't come back," or "never show up again" to trigger her.]

The third point was circled in red by the doctor. [Once she starts carrying out the instructions, it's almost impossible for her to stop by herself.]
