When we got home, Daniel was drenched, his hair dripping wet.

I quickly grabbed a towel and handed it to him. "Mr. Elliott, dry yourself off before you catch a cold."

He took the towel. His eyes met mine, noticing my worry. Then, out of nowhere, he said, "Juliette, don't call me Mr. Elliott. Call me Daniel."

My heart skipped a beat, and my cheeks flushed. I whispered, "D-Daniel."

"Yeah," he replied, his eyes full of warmth. He reached out and gently ruffled my hair, the gesture so natural and affectionate.

That simple touch melted my heart.
