"How long have they been following you?" I asked, trying not to crack up.

"Beats me." James rubbed his temples. "Probably since school."

The three outside realized they'd been spotted, vanished for a couple seconds, then popped up again at the door.

Alex led the way, with Ryan and Ethan trailing behind. They acted like they just happened to drop by for a meal.

"Wow, James, fancy seeing you here!" Alex strolled over to our table, took off his sunglasses, and put on his surprised face. "What a coincidence."
