When I opened my eyes again, I was floating in midair.

I looked down and saw my own body, thin, pale, curled up on the freezing concrete floor, with a pool of blood beneath it blooming like some hellish flower, stark and terrible.

Rocco stood over my body for a long time without saying a word.

Then he took my phone, photographed my corpse, pressed the record button, and spoke a few sentences into the lifeless shell that used to be me.
