The next day, he took me to the Bennett house.

It was the first time I had returned in three years, and the place looked more run-down than before. The flowers in the yard had been left untended, growing wild and shapeless.

Mr. Bennett was sitting in the living room. He froze when he saw me, and his face changed again when he noticed Alexander behind me.
