Chapter 4

Morning light slipped through a gap in the curtains, landing across Mia’s face. She groaned and pulled the blanket over her head. Her skull throbbed, her mouth was dry, and for a few blissful seconds she lay there hoping five more minutes of sleep would fix everything.

It didn’t.

She opened her eyes. The ceiling wasn’t white, it was gray. She didn’t own gray curtains, or a gray ceiling, or… Her eyes widened. This wasn’t her dorm room.
