For the next few days, I became Daniel's shadow.

If he got to the office at seven, I was there by six-thirty.

I used a thermometer to check the temperature of his coffee.

I'd print out any documents he needed for meetings the day before, arrange them in order, and mark the key points on every page with sticky notes.

While the other secretaries clocked out, I volunteered to stay late and put in extra hours.

If Daniel was working in his office until 1 a.m., I'd be right outside, waiting for him until 1 a.m. too.
