Chapter 4

A voice came from my walkie-talkie. "Dr. Ochoa, are you okay? We've all evacuated. No one was hurt.

"Where are you? Do you need help? Also, an aftershock is coming any second. Get out of there immediately."

I clicked on my walkie-talkie. "It's fine. I have a survivor here. She's not injured. I'm bringing her out now."

I helped Leslie up immediately. This was a matter of life and death. I wasn't going to bring personal grudges into this. I didn't care why she wasn't hiding who she was.
