My mind drifted off into a fog.

I vaguely felt Andrew holding me tight, his voice and body trembling uncontrollably. "Luca, stay awake. Stay with me. We're almost at the hospital."

But I was so tired. Weariness and exhaustion crashed over me like a tidal wave. I felt myself falling endlessly into a bed of soft clouds until my consciousness faded away completely.

I imagined dying right then and there, but the system wasn't about to let me go that easily.
