Chapter 4
"Let's check the cameras to see what happened. If my kid started it, he'll admit it, right, Professor Lam?" I continued.
She stammered, "That spot's hidden. The cameras might've missed it."
[Why is Megan helping Leonard's mom?]
[Megan has always liked Xander and sees Jasmine as her love rival.]
"I have nothing else today, so let's check every camera. There must be something on tape," I insisted
I sat down, ready for the long haul.
Leonard's mom seemed unsure and stopped asking Kieran for an apology, wanting only to leave with Leonard.
"Not so fast," I called out, stopping her in her tracks.
Leonard's mom hesitated, "Anything else?"
"The kids' issue is settled, but we still need to discuss something between the adults and kids," I pointed out, her gaze steady on the woman.
I pointed to the handprint on Kieran's cheek. "That print's huge, no kid did that, right?
"So, who hit my son?"
A teacher hitting a student would go viral, so Megan immediately shook her head.
"Then it's just you, Mrs. Flynn," I rose and walked over to stand before her.
"Apologize to my son."
I was exhausted by today's drama.
After school, I stayed silent all the way home.
I rested my chin on my hand, watching the blurred scenery, thinking, "Being a mom is tough."
Today, I truly felt what being a mom means. You must toughen up for your kid.
If I hadn't defended Kieran, he'd be blamed and forced to apologize publicly.
That would mess him up.
"Leonard threw the first punch," Kieran blurted.
I looked at him, intrigued. "Why not say that sooner?"
"I knew you wouldn't back me, so I stayed silent," he mumbled, barely looking up.
"So, why did you guys start fighting?" I asked.
"He insulted my mom and said my dad doesn't care about me. I said he was wrong, then he swung at me, so I fought back," Kieran explained.
[Kieran holds grudges. Without Jasmine today, he'd have apologized publicly and planned brutal payback against Leonard.]
[He went savage, cut off Leonard's hands and tore out his tongue.]
I looked at Kieran's pitiful, wronged look. He had issues, sure, but nothing like the monster they described.
She couldn't imagine him becoming the savage everyone in the chat mentioned.
"Stand up for yourself, but don't throw punches. If someone bullies you, tell an adult," I told him, my tone practical. "But honestly, the teacher's useless, so we're switching schools tomorrow."
She locked eyes with him, serious. "If you must fight back, stay controlled. Solve the problem, don't just explode in anger."
When he hit Leonard today, it seemed like he was just letting off steam.
The Maybach arrived at the Fox Family estate.
I saw the servants gossiping from afar.
"Mrs. Fox just arrived and had to rush to school. Poor thing," one whispered.
"Her kid hit someone," another said.
"He's acting up already. Bet he'll end up like his mom," a third servant snickered.
Harsh, ugly words drifted to me.
"Stay in the car," I told him.
I closed the door, leaving Kieran inside.
I told the butler to release the servants gossiping about her.
I compensated them and ensured they left the Fox Family estate that night.
By the end, only the butler, driver, two cleaners, and cook remained.
Xander asked the butler to hire more help, but I refused.
I suggested they do simple chores and leave hard ones to the staff.
The chat panel said the Fox Family would go bankrupt eventually.
Neither Xander nor Kieran had ever lifted a finger around the house.
Kieran let pregnant Natalie do all the laundry and cooking.
Hell no!
Why should she do all this?
