Chapter 9

<p>The day before Silas and Blair's wedding, Claire's immigration procedures were finally completed.</p><p>She had been like a walking corpse for days, until she received this phone call, and her face finally regained some color.</p><p>She hung up the phone call from the embassy and then booked a flight to France online.</p><p>Having done all that, she began to stagger as she pushed her wheelchair to pack her belongings.</p><p>She had nothing to be attached to in this house; apart from some documents, she didn't plan to take anything else with her.</p><p>Including everything Silas and Leo gave her.</p><p>The little trinkets Leo made herself, and the various pieces of jewelry Silas bought.</p><p>She used to treasure all the gifts they gave her, carefully keeping them safe and sound, afraid of damaging them.</p><p>It wasn't until she went to that room yesterday that she realized the gifts she received were all fakes of Blair's gifts.</p><p>Even the small ceramic ornaments that Leo made herself were some failed experiments.</p><p>She cleared out everything related to Silas and Leo, then moved it all to the backyard and burned it all to the ground.</p><p>As she watched the flames slowly rise into the sky, her heart was gradually cleansed .</p><p>Once the flames were completely extinguished, she pushed her wheelchair back. As soon as she entered the room, she saw Silas leading Leo down from upstairs.</p><p>They were dressed in suits, as if they had just returned from a very formal banquet.</p><p>Upon seeing Claire, the two men's expressions changed slightly, and they hurriedly walked up to her.</p><p>"Claire, where did you go? Why are all the gifts we gave you gone from your room?"</p><p>Claire said, "I saw that they were all covered in dust, so I wiped them clean and put them away."</p><p>The two seemed relieved, wondering if she was still unaware that her uterus was gone.</p><p>They were quite nervous when they saw that all the gifts were gone.</p><p>Seeing that she was the same as usual, Silas said gently to her, "I've been too busy lately, so I haven't had a chance to spend much time with you. I just took some time to come and see you today. We won't be home for the next few days either. After we finish dealing with things, shall we go on a trip together as a family to relax?"</p><p>Leo happily jumped into her arms: "Mom, are you happy? I'm so happy! I love traveling with Mom and Dad the most!"</p><p>Claire's expression remained indifferent. She didn't say anything, but simply nodded slightly.</p><p>They were relieved to see that she had agreed. They gave her a few more instructions before leaving in a hurry.</p><p>Unbeknownst to them, no sooner had they left than she, under the moonlight, pushed her wheelchair and carried her luggage away.</p><p>Her figure disappeared into the night, vanishing without a trace.</p><p>The next day was Silas's secretly planned wedding with Blair.</p><p>Silas stood above the auditorium, watching the guests chatting and laughing as they came and went, and felt inexplicably uneasy.</p><p>For this wedding, he only invited his closest friends from the industry, so they would never gossip about him to Claire . But for some reason, his heart was still pounding.</p><p>He thought he was finally getting married to the woman he loved today, which was why he was so nervous, but he couldn't help but call his assistant.</p><p>"Go and see if Claire is home. You absolutely cannot let her know that I'm having a wedding, otherwise she will definitely make a big fuss, understand?"</p><p>Only after hanging up the phone did he finally feel a little more at ease.</p><p>The wedding officially began, and Blair, dressed in a white gown, slowly walked towards him amidst the expectant gazes of everyone.</p><p>Standing before her was the flower boy, Leo.</p><p>He presented the ring to Silas, looking at the two of them with a smile.</p><p>Just as he took the ring and was about to put it on Blair's finger, the phone in his pocket rang at an inopportune moment.</p><p>He frowned slightly, looking at his assistant's name on the caller ID. Just as he was about to speak in displeasure, his assistant's flustered voice came from the other end of the line.</p><p>"Mr.Vane, it's terrible! Madam knows everything you did to her! She took her luggage and quietly left while we weren't looking!"</p><p>"We just received news that the flight my wife was on encountered severe turbulence, crashed into the sea, and there was no trace of anyone on board!"</p>
