When Monica and Frank heard Adam was in trouble, they showed up in no time.

"How could something like this happen when everything seemed fine?" Monica signed, worry written all over her face.

I shook my head.

Monica squeezed my hand. "Don't worry, no matter what happens, I'm your mom, and I'll always have your back."

Monica and Frank were both highly educated. When they learned I became deaf and mute because of Adam, their first reaction was to be deeply grateful to me.

They supported our marriage wholeheartedly and covered half the cost of my treatment after the wedding.
