Chapter 4

Nobody spoke in the office.

Jessica waited, then walked over and leaned in to read the screen.

"M-Mr. Grant?" She read out the name.

She read out the name from the notes section.

Michael Grant was the head of the Health Department.

Jessica wasn't putting it together. "Dad, who's Mr. Grant?"

Richard ignored her. His eyes were fixed on me. "You're with the Health Department?"

I put my phone away, took out a blue leather ID from my bag, flipped it open, and held it out. The ID had my title, my photo, and a red stamp on it.
