After winter began, the first snow fell in Northwave.

It snowed for a whole day and night, piling up half a foot deep. When Harper opened the door in the morning, the courtyard was a sea of white, and the old tree's branches were bent under the weight of the snow.

Harper stood on the porch, bundled up in a heavy cloak, watching the snow fall.
