Chapter 3
Emily walked over to the window and made a call in a flat voice. "Mr. Anderson, I've noticed the school's culture is off lately. If you still want the rights to my latest patent, you should suspend all sponsorships to our school."
On the other end, the company executive Richard Anderson sounded extremely respectful. "Ms. Carter, we'll do exactly as you say. Please, make sure the patent stays with us."
Meanwhile, I casually browsed through my contacts and dialed my mom's number. "Mom, about those two lab buildings we were planning to donate to the school, let's drop it. No need to follow up anymore. This school isn't worthy."
With those three calls made, I figured it wouldn't even take an hour before the school's higher-ups would be scrambling in panic.
Victoria thought she could throw her weight around, and the advisor wanted to back her up in her schemes.
What a ridiculous joke. If she wanted to crush us, she should first ask herself if she'd got the power.
We made it back to the dorm only to freeze at the sight. Our things had all been tossed out.
Victoria swaggered out of the dorm, her gaze brazen and full of smug defiance. "Well, the three overachievers are back? Perfect timing. Just so you know, the school approved my request. From now on, this dorm is all mine."
Her two sidekicks immediately stepped forward, barking. "What are you waiting for? Grab your junk and get out!"
"Who did this? Tell me now!" Emily's furious voice cut through the air.
I followed her pointing finger and saw a shattered ceramic doll lying on the floor.
I remembered Emily once telling me this doll was the only keepsake her mom left her before she passed away. She treasured it deeply.
At that moment, Emily's eyes were red with rage, and the pressure in the room was so intense it felt suffocating.
Victoria carelessly glanced at the broken shards on the floor, smirking with obvious disdain. "Yeah, I broke it. So what? It's just a worthless ceramic doll. Name your price. I'll pay."
As soon as Victoria finished, Emily lunged forward and slapped her hard on the face.
Victoria let out a shrill scream, clutching her cheek in disbelief as she stared at Emily. "You actually hit me?"
"Damn right I did!" Emily's eyes blazed with fury as she swung her hand again, charging straight at Victoria.
Victoria, stunned and furious, spun around and snapped at her two sidekicks. "What are you waiting for? Hurry up and help me!"
The two sidekicks, flustered, scrambled toward Emily, ready to swarm her. Seeing that, Olivia and I jumped right in without a second thought.
I'd been training in boxing since I was little, so I handled all three of them in a flash.
Victoria's hair was a tangled mess, one side of her face puffed up and swollen, tears pouring down her cheeks. "Just you wait! I'm calling my dad. He'll have you all expelled!"
Not long after she hung up, Patricia came over and took us to her office.
Inside, a middle-aged man was sitting there. The moment Victoria saw him, she burst into tears and threw herself into his arms. "Dad, they hit me! Look at what they did to me. It hurts so much. You have to stand up for me!"
The middle-aged man, Reginald Sterling, gave Victoria a sympathetic look, then shot us a vicious glare. He barked orders at the burly bodyguards behind him. "You guys, hold them down!"
Panic hit me. I whipped out my phone to call my mom, but before I could even get a word out, a bodyguard grabbed it away from me.
