Chapter 3

"Really? I don't believe you. Then why is Charlotte living in the storage room?" I pressed.

Mary scowled. "Not giving Charlotte an allowance was our mistake. But when did we ever make her live in a storage room?"

"Oh? Then where does Charlotte live?" I asked Mary curiously.

Mary was suddenly speechless because she genuinely had no idea. Finally, she stammered, "She... she lives on the second floor, right?"

The second floor had the children's rooms; the third floor was their master bedroom and study. She assumed Charlotte lived on the second floor like the other two kids.
