"Rachel?" Christopher appeared suddenly and grabbed my shoulder. "What are you doing here?"

His eyes flicked to Vivian, then back to my face, where panic showed. "You already found out?" he asked.

I forced a bitter smile. "Yes. I knew you weren't on a business trip. You spent Valentine's Day with her."

"So you followed me to the hospital to cause a scene?" Christopher accused, blunt and angry, thinking I was making trouble.

He squeezed my shoulder hard. Tears came that I could no longer hold back. "Didn't you see I was in a hospital gown?" I cried.
