Chapter 1
There are many things humans don’t understand, just like what Theodore is doing right now.
A long-haired man with red eyes appeared after Theodore accidentally performed that strange ritual.
“You… are the one who summoned me here?” Leander looked up to stare at the summoner.
“Who are you?” Theodore continued to stare in horror at the young man sitting within the magic circle.
“You summoned me without knowing who I am? How foolish,” Leander replied with a soft snort.
“Don’t beat around the bush. Tell me who you really are before I kick you out of my house,” Theodore replied, placing his hands on his hips.
“I am a Fallen Angel who has become a Demon. Leander.”
Theodore’s eyes widened in disbelief when he heard Leander’s words.
He hadn’t expected that the ritual he’d performed by accident would lead him to summon such a powerful entity.
“What do you want from me?” Theodore realized that a demon like Leander wouldn’t just leave.
And Theodore had no intention of simply keeping him around, as he was certain there would be a heavy price to pay for it.
“I’m the one who should be asking you that,” Leander replied emotionlessly.
Slowly, Leander reached out toward Theodore’s neck.
But Theodore quickly and forcefully swatted his hand away.
At the same moment, Leander grabbed Theodore’s hand as it struck out.
“Look, you’ve made a blood contract with me. Because of you, I’m bound to you,” Leander said coldly.
Theodore could see a red thread intertwined between him and Leander.
“Oh no…” Theodore muttered softly without realizing it.
Silently, Leander smirked at Theodore’s confusion.
Taking advantage of Theodore’s confusion, Leander pulled his arm closer until their faces were inches apart.
“Tell me what your deepest desire is. I’ll grant it for you,” Leander said with his captivating smile.
For a moment, Theodore was lost in Leander’s gaze, as dark as the night.
Before finally snapping his fingers toward Leander’s forehead.
“Stop that nonsense. If you want to stay here, you have to work!” Theodore stood up, hands on his hips.
“You!” Leander glared angrily at Theodore while holding his forehead.
Before Leander could finish his sentence, something flew toward him and hit him in the face.
“Ahhh!”
“Put that on before you go out,” Theodore said before striding away from the basement of his house.
Leander clenched his fists tightly, holding back his urge to tear Theodore to pieces right then and there.
“If he weren’t the one who summoned me, I’d have finished him off already!” Leander hissed sharply.
His gaze remained fixed on Theodore’s back as he nearly disappeared behind the door.
. . .
It had been three days since Leander started working at Theodore’s coffee shop, and he still didn’t understand what Theodore wanted from him.
In Leander’s eyes, Theodore was always friendly to his customers, even though they were often rude to him.
“Stop staring at me like that,” Theodore said without turning to look at Leander.
“Can’t you just tell me what you want? Trust me, I can make it happen for you,” Leander replied enthusiastically.
Theodore jutted his chin forward, signaling to Leander.
However, Leander tilted his head, not understanding what he meant.
“Leander’s customer,” Theodore said, emphasizing each word, even though a smile remained on his lips.
“Ugh!” Leander lazily got up from his seat and walked over to take the order from the customer who had just arrived.
From a distance, Theodore watched Leander, torn by inner conflict.
He didn’t know what to do about Leander, especially when he realized that Leander wasn’t someone he could simply take for granted.
“Should I really take advantage of him?” Theodore muttered softly.
. . .
Day after day passed, and Leander grew increasingly frustrated with Theodore because he still hadn’t made his intentions clear.
Leander wouldn’t be able to go back until their contract was over.
However, the problem was that Theodore didn’t seem to want anything from him.
“Hey! Why are you daydreaming like that? Didn’t I tell you the latte art has to be neat? Who’s going to buy it if you draw it so haphazardly?” Theodore shook his head.
“What do I care about that damn art?” Leander snorted softly, unconcerned.
“Watch me and learn,” Theodore said patiently.
Leander looked at Theodore from the side, watching how the man’s hands moved deftly over the coffee cup.
“How about it? Do you get it now?” Theodore turned his head to the side to make sure Leander was paying attention.
Instead, he found Leander engrossed in staring at him rather than watching what he was doing.
Noticing Theodore’s glare, Leander grinned widely, then put his arm around him.
“I can do it without even looking,” Leander replied confidently.
“Huh? Are you sure?” Theodore raised an eyebrow, challenging Leander.
“Just watch!” Leander gently pushed Theodore aside.
Then Leander grabbed another coffee cup and began creating his own latte art.
Theodore watched him closely and realized that Leander really was a quick learner.
“You’ve been fooling me all this time, haven’t you? If you can do it, why has your latte art been so terrible all this time?” Theodore felt the back of his neck tense up.
Leander just shrugged indifferently, not responding to Theodore’s accusation.
Seeing that reaction, Theodore’s anger flared even more.
And without realizing it, he blurted out,
“I’ll tell you what I want if you do your job properly,” Theodore said passionately.
A red flash appeared in Leander’s eyes when he heard that.
“You… don’t think you can take those words back,” Leander replied with a terrifying, wide grin.
