Chapter 3
When I realized who it was, my heart jolted.
"This is the women's bathroom What are you doing here?"
Samuel pinned me against the wall, a sly grin on his face as his eyes shamelessly roamed all over me.
"Just you and me, alone What do you think I want?"
Seeing where this was going, I started struggling, trying to break free from his grip.
"Mr. Sterling, let me go! David is right outside eating. Please, you can't do this to me."
Samuel smelled strongly of alcohol, but instead of getting angry, he just laughed. "Take a guess. Why do you think I showed up at this dinner tonight? And do you think David has any clue I'm out here with you right now?"
He reached out and brushed my cheek. "Be honest, are you and your husband really that close? He hasn't touched you in forever, right? Don't you ever crave it?
"Trust me, I'm way better at sex than him. And I really like you."
Suddenly, he leaned in, his lips almost brushing my ear as he whispered, "Actually, tonight's dinner? Your husband arranged it. He's totally fine with what's happening right now.
"That dress you're wearing? I picked it out for you.
"You look incredible in it. When you walked in, I couldn't take my eyes off you. You made me itch to get closer.
"Emily, you smell amazing Is that the scent of a new mom, or is it just you?"
He started getting handsy, and I tried to push him away, but he was way stronger than me. There was no way I could escape his hold.
It had been ages since a man touched me, and honestly, I felt a little shaken, but I knew I had to resist him.
"Mr. Sterling, please stop. I used to be your student. You brought me into this company. We're practically mentor and mentee. This isn't right."
That seemed to excite him even more. Samuel tightened his grip around me. "You know, I'd almost forgotten. I've wanted to mess with you like this for years.
"From the moment you joined the company, I had my eye on you. Sure, you weren't the sharpest, always messing things up, but honestly, your cluelessness was kind of adorable.
"I always thought you'd make the perfect wife. I could just keep you at home, take care of you. All those times I gave you a hard time? I just wanted you to admit you were wrong, so you'd finally notice how good I am.
"But who knew you'd have such terrible taste? You ignored a capable exec like me and went for that wimp David instead!
"I seriously don't get it. From character, looks, to money, what does he have that I don't? Why won't you choose me?"
I might not like Samuel, but honestly, he's got the looks and charisma.
He's only 27 and already a senior executive. Most of the girls at the company secretly have a crush on him. I'm just the odd one out.
Noticing I'd zoned out and stopped fighting back, Samuel slipped my jacket off in one smooth move.
My body reacted automatically.
It had been ages since I'd been with a man, and with Samuel so close, radiating that masculine vibe, my cheeks went red and my heart started racing.
I wanted to push him away, but my arms felt weak. The alcohol was making me dizzy.
Suddenly, he leaned in, breathing in my scent, his voice low and seductive.
"Emily, your husband would practically hand you over to me just to get on my good side. If you stick with me, David could get promoted and a raise next week."
The bathroom stall was tiny, and right now, I was so flustered by his advances I couldn't think straight.
David had spent the last two years complaining I was useless, that I couldn't help his career and just lived off his paycheck.
I really wanted to help him, but I just wasn't good enough.
Samuel's offer made me waver for a moment, but then I thought to myself, No way. That would be betraying David.
Samuel caught the change in my expression, like he could read my mind. Before I could pull back, he grabbed my hands.
The smell of alcohol filled the whole stall. When the charm didn't work, he was ready to get physical.
There was barely any space, and I couldn't move at all.
"Mr. Sterling, please, don't do this. It's not right," I pleaded, my voice trembling.
