Chapter 1
Samantha Summers introduced the guy, Jason Grant, who was obsessed with her, to me.
I spent three years turning the chubby, awkward-looking Jason into a supermodel.
The day after he proposed to me, Samantha just happened to run into him, and they ended up in bed that night.
And of course, the paparazzi snapped some steamy shots of them, and the whole internet went wild.
Everyone was laughing at me, yet Jason said Samantha was his true love.
Samantha asked to meet, and on my way there, I had a car accident and ended up paralyzed.
Later, I found out it was all Samantha's scheme. She wanted to take my place to marry Jason.
On the day they streamed their wedding to the whole world, I set my room ablaze and let the flames consume me.
When I opened my eyes, I was back on the day when Jason was at his absolute worst—overweight, helpless, and reaching out to me for help.
I gave Jason an indifferent glance, then turned my back and walked away.
This time, without my makeover magic, that so-called top model was destined to crash and burn.

"Jason, just looking at you makes me want to hurl."
"Gosh, you look like a freaking toad. Why do you keep trailing after Sammy? Don't you have a mirror? Check out your reflection," another guy jeered.
"Haha, even someone like you wants Sammy?" someone else chimed in.
"It's not your fault you're ugly, but showing your ugly mug to Sammy? Man, you're just begging to get punched," another guy snorted.
"Hey, fatso, go confess to some girl. If she actually says yes, I'll leave you alone. How about it?" one of them sneered.
The noisy jeers made me feel sick to my stomach.
I suddenly opened my eyes, pressing a hand to my chest to stifle the intense heat burning inside me.
My mind was foggy as I stared blankly at the scene unfolding before me.
Jason was sprawled on the ground, looking utterly pathetic, his face as white as a sheet.
And there was Samantha, sitting off to the side like the queen bee, with everyone's attention fixed on her as she watched the drama unfold.
My blood boiled. This was exactly how it had played out in my last life.
This was the day I'd stood up for Jason at Samantha's birthday party.
I narrowed my eyes and shot a smirk at the pair who'd made my life a living hell.
Tears slipped down my cheeks. Holy crap, I'd actually come back to the past.
Jason and Samantha, it was so great to see you.
Back in my previous life, it all went down at this very birthday party.
Samantha couldn't stand the sight of Jason, who was always clinging to her like a lost puppy.
So she secretly signaled her squad and all her hangers-on to humiliate Jason, hoping he'd give up and crawl away in shame.
But Jason was stubborn as a mule. Normally, he was a total pushover, always shrinking into the background.
But no matter how much they insulted him, he just brushed it off like it didn't bother him at all.
Back then, Jason was seriously unattractive—a 180-pound blob of greasy fat.
He was so chubby that his features were all squished together, and his face was peppered with angry red pimples.
His cheeks were shiny with oil, and he wore thick, nerdy glasses that only made things worse.
He was the kind of guy anyone would want to look away from the moment they saw him.
Honestly, it was hilarious. Samantha was drop-dead gorgeous. No way in hell she'd ever be into a guy like him.
But to keep up her "nice girl" image, Samantha just kept pretending Jason was putting her in a tough spot.
So he became everyone's favorite target for bullying and getting left out.
I was the one who saved him.
I couldn't just stand by and watch, so I stood up for him.
When they were about to smash a glass bottle over his head, I pulled him away and got us both out of there.
Everyone gave me those fake, mean smiles, and the gossip mill at school went into overdrive.
People started saying Catherine must've lost her mind, crushing on a guy who looked like a mess.
After that, my whole life turned into a circus. Rumors were around wherever I went, and Jason was so eaten up with guilt that he couldn't even meet my eyes.
Just like that, we became silent partners in misery, both knowing exactly what the other was going through, even if we never talked about it.
After a while, Jason's health really started to go downhill because of all that extra weight.
I used the chance to push him to turn his life around and finally lose the weight and clean up his act.
I'd been running with him every night for two whole years. I even learned all about nutrition just so I could put together meal plans that actually worked for him.
I hit up an old-school herbalist to help balance out his health from the inside, too.
Day in and day out, I kept making herbal concoctions for him, and finally, those angry pimples were gone.
I blew through all my savings, dragging him to doctors and getting him the surgery he needed, just so he could finally toss those nerdy glasses for good.
In the end, he emerged with sharp, chiseled features and those smoldering, dreamy eyes that could make anyone weak in the knees.
Even then, he still had zero confidence in himself.
I convinced him to give the school's modeling contest a shot.
At the competition, a big-name modeling agency scouted him and offered him a spot as a trainee.
I drained all my savings and even borrowed money from my friends just for Jason.
I worked myself to the bone, juggling multiple jobs day and night, and ended up with a serious back injury from overwork.
For years after that, I had to keep taking medication just to treat it.
I paid those insane trainee fees for him, so he could chase his dreams without worry, and finally be confident in who he was.
Later, I even became his assistant, taking care of him day in and day out, making sure he had everything he needed.
I built up his global fanbase, hyped him up online, got his name out there, and hustled for every opportunity I could find.
I stuck by his side, cheering him on as he stepped into the spotlight, one milestone at a time.
From then on, he was the top male model everyone in the fashion world was talking about.
And on the very day Jason reached the peak of his career, he did something I never expected.
He proposed to me, saying I was the most important person in his life.
I thought my wonderful, happy life was just about to begin.
But what I didn't see coming was that the very next day after he proposed, he'd send me crashing straight into the abyss.
