Chapter 1
Chelsey
I never meant to walk in on the hockey captain naked.
But I did.
Sighs.
It was Jamie's fault.
*
"Chelsey, could you help me cover the locker cleaning today?"
Jamie asked. Choking on her sausage and tea.
Spilling that stupid request that made my hand stop writing on my notebook.
I intentionally pushed my big, ugly glasses as she calls them, up my nose, giving her a fitting glare.
That made her raise her shoulders and pause mid-chew.
"What did I do?" she said, tea dripping onto the kitchen counter.
"Yulk!" I hissed, rolling my eyes at her sunset yellow hair.
She gave her signature offensive smile, dabbed the table with a wipe.
"I have to secure my job at the cafeteria. Thanks, and I love you!"
"Wait—" I hadn't even agreed, and she scampered out of the house.
I smacked my forehead, a pout crossing my lips as I threw my pen away.
"You make the most absurd requests," I hissed, running up the stairs to get a pair of sneakers.
My eyes were now fixed on the clock.
I hate hockey enough to know when the noise quiets down means the game is over.
The ice is like three kilometers away, but every puck sounds like it's happening right in my room.
"Done." I had my gorgeous black sneakers ready, stared at the mirror to catch a glimpse of myself
I looked... "Horrible," I whined, pulling the ribbon from my dirty blonde hair to repack it, but it was still nothing close to good. Believe me.
I just adjusted my t-shirt, added pink lip gloss, and pulled on my denim jeans.
"God, help me win these three pressing needs of mine—pass my maths exam and get Jack's love and finish my psychology thesis"
That's all I kept muttering under my breath.
Rushing through the hallway which was surprisingly quiet, the opposite of what match day always looks like.
It meant the boys obviously lost another game.
My phone beeped. It was Jamie.
I hissed, tucking my phone into my back pocket without reading the message.
I doubled my steps into the rink.
The cold silence here was deafeningly weird.
I had to take a deep breath, shutting the door softly.
I adjusted my glasses. The lights were out. My eyes darted in the dark for a while.
"Wow, so a game loss could really affect them?. Thought they were gods"
I whispered to myself with a smirk crossing my lips. I leaned to the door, my hands on my chest.
Perfect.
“I don't get to see the cocky fangirls, neither do I have to see Reid."
Pushing the locker door open to another round of silence, sweat, and dirt.
My hands on my waist, watching the footmarks, the pads littered everywhere, the sticks and jerseys.
God, I could curse them.
I rushed over to the cleaning area, picked up the mop and detergent, till it became sparkling clean.
I took a deep, hard breath, my eyes scanning everywhere in the silence.
Finally, the jerseys.
I scooped them into a washing trolley.
Pushing the trolley towards the laundry room, with my earphones on and blasting a popular rock and roll.
One of the tyres pulled out instantly.
I bent to pick it up, but my eyes found a naked guy under the shower.
I should have looked away, but my eyes stayed fixed for a second against my command.
The tyre rolled out of my hands to the floor.
The clicking sound made his eyes find mine, digging into it aggressive and dark.
He was stroking his cock passionately rough, head thrown back, his breathing ragged.
Brown tousled hair, thick brows, and a deep frown.
Realization struck me quickly.
Reid Mason.
Hockey captain.
I stood up immediately and turned to leave without a word.
"Wait."
His deep bass voice sliced through the quiet.
I almost forgot how to breathe. I stopped, silently praying and trembling.
Every second felt like hours with my chest beating loudly, my mind spiraling.
"Turn," he said.
"I—you," I was now stuttering.
"I'm obviously not naked!"
He said that too casually, making my heart sink to my stomach.
I turned to him, head lowered and my toes tapping against each other.
“Chelsey” He called my name in a low growl tone
Taking one step toward me.
My stomach churned.
In a reflex, I had taken two more steps away.
I lost my balance and his left arm grabbed me.
My hands circled over his neck.
Our eyes meeting this close, my lips parted, no word could come.
His big frame and height shutting my senses that I wrapped in his almond scent.
“So,this is what you wanted? To be in the Captain's arms?” He said to my face.
His lips holding a devilsh smirk.
“Hell,no, what?”
I snagged out of his grip.
"Did you come to get gossip? I heard you got a promotion!"
He said, the shower water trickling from his hair to his face.
My eyes settled a bit on the white towel tied loosely to his waist.
"I didn't come to get gossip,"
My eyes roaming on his toned, muscular build as looking at him in the eye would be impossible.
"So, what then makes you walk into the locker by 6 p.m.?"
