Sophie's fashion show still went on as scheduled.

I allowed it.

Edward, convinced he'd come out on top, broke the ice and showed up to see me, dragging Sophie along with him.

"Charlotte, thanks for letting this happen," he said.

"Sophie's going to wow everyone this time. Whatever happened before is water under the bridge," he added.

I sat back in the oversized armchair in my study, shooting them a brief, disinterested look.

He thanked me, huh?

I smirked to myself, but kept my expression perfectly neutral.

Sophie stepped forward and offered me an elegant dress box with both hands.
