The bell from the Forbidden Grounds tolled three times.

With each toll, the crack in the Moon Pendant deepened.

Kane laughed so hard his shoulders shook.

"Too late." he sneerd.

He watched me, his wolf form gradually receding, an unnatural flush spreading across his face.

He said, "The blood pact is already open. Even with your awakening, you can't save the former king's remnant soul."

The Grand Elder stood at the far end of the elders' gallery, tapping his blackwood staff lightly against the floor.

It was a subtle tap.

But I saw the blood-stone at the staff's tip flash…
