Chapter 1
After I went back to to the past, I deleted the half-written song I wrote for Ryan Pierce on my computer.
He was the superstar everyone adored, while I was the nameless ghostwriter hiding in the shadows.
Every chart-topping hit he had was written by me.
My name should have been engraved on every single one of his trophies.
But in my previous life, all he ever said to me was, "Sylvia, your name doesn't belong in the spotlight. Just stay behind the scenes. Once I'm famous, I'll give you everything."
I waited for him for twelve years.
What I got instead was his official announcement of dating Jenna Cole, the girl group leader; my songs credited to someone else; and finally, dropping dead from exhaustion at thirty-four, slumped over my recording desk in a cheap apartment.
When I died, there was still an unfinished song lying next to me.
It was a brand new track I'd written for his upcoming tour.
I wasn't going to waste my life like that ever again.
