Chapter 3

I knew Brandon was anything but harmless beneath that polished exterior. I pulled free from his grip, flustered. "Where's my room?"

An unreadable smile tugged at Brandon's mouth as he led me inside. "Your room's right next to mine." He pushed open a carved wooden door. "Anything you need, tell the housekeeper."

The room was at least three times the size of my old bedroom. Decorated in a subtle slate-blue palette with a private balcony, it overlooked the rose garden.

"Like it?" Brandon leaned against the doorframe. "Had it set up just for you."
