Chapter 3
After withdrawing the cash from the bank, the very first thing I did was unlock my storage space.
It was a family heirloom—a black diamond pendant that looked completely unremarkable. I'd worn it around my neck for over ten years, never paying it any mind.
It wasn't until I was dying in my last life that my blood accidentally soaked the pendant, awakening its real ability—a vast pocket dimension for storage.
Unfortunately, by then I was already barely hanging on, with no chance to use it.
This time, I wasn't going to miss out again.
Back at my temporary hotel room, I made sure the doors and windows were locked, took out the pendant, pricked my finger, and let a drop of blood drip onto it.
The pendant drank in the blood, and the dull black gem burst into dazzling colors, bathing me in a soft white light.
Suddenly, I was whisked away into a bizarre, otherworldly space.
Everything was shrouded in gray, endless and boundless, like I'd stepped into some chaotic universe.
I tried walking forward, but no matter how far I went, there was no end in sight.
The size of this space was way beyond anything I could have imagined.
But what really blew my mind was that time inside was literally frozen.
I put a glass of hot water from my hotel room in there, and when I took it out half an hour later, it was still piping hot—no change at all.
That meant any food I stored in here would never go bad!
A massive storage space where time literally froze.
Seriously, it was like having a cheat code tailor-made for the apocalypse!
Suppressing my excitement, I started mapping out my hoarding plan.
Just one month left before everything went to hell.
Time was ticking—I had to hustle, no time to waste.
My first stop? The place I used to call home—now nothing but the love nest where Alex and Sophie were shacking up.
That night, I'd already figured Alex would take Sophie out to celebrate their so-called fresh start, so I quietly snuck back into the villa I'd lived in for ten years.
The fingerprint lock was still the same.
I slipped inside with practiced ease, scanning the familiar yet strangely alien rooms. I felt absolutely nothing.
My revenge would begin by stripping their home bare.
I didn't rush in right away. First, I pulled out the mini spy cameras I'd prepared and expertly planted them in every nook of the villa—the living room, bedrooms, kitchen, and even the bathroom.
I was going to make sure that when the apocalypse hit, they'd watch their perfect world crumble.
Once everything was set, it was time for my looting spree.
Standing in the center of the living room, I just willed it—and the pendant's space unleashed a powerful pull.
First stop: the wine cabinet, packed with Alex's prized stash of rare wines and whiskies—Lafite, Romanée-Conti, all those bottles he guarded like the crown jewels in my last life, never letting me lay a finger on them.
Now, into the stash!
Next up was his study, loaded with all those limited-edition figurines, gaming consoles, and expensive cigars—stuff he bought behind my back.
Bagged!
Next up was the walk-in closet Sophie had claimed for herself.
It used to be mine, but now it was all hers.
Inside, rows of designer bags, high heels, and luxury outfits hung untouched—brand new, tags still attached.
Every single item had been bought with my money.
I sneered and took everything.
Not even their sex toys in the nightstand was safe from me.
Gross as it was, the thought of them gaping at the empty drawer later made me feel ridiculously good.
From the first floor to the third, I was like a relentless looting machine—everywhere I went, I left nothing but empty space behind.
The fancy leather couch in the living room? Gone.
The six-figure rosewood dining table in the dining room? Gone.
The home theater Alex spent a fortune on, including that gigantic 120-inch screen? Gone.
The top-shelf skincare Sophie just splurged on—La Mer, La Prairie, you name it—was stacked all over the vanity. Now? Wiped out.
I didn't leave a single thing behind—not the pots and pans in the kitchen, not the fridge packed with imported groceries, not even the toiletries in the bathroom or their fancy new smart toilet seat. Everything, down to the last toothbrush, got swept into my storage space.
Finally, I stood in the villa, now stripped bare except for empty walls and a few heavy pieces of furniture that couldn't be moved. I dusted off my hands, feeling thoroughly satisfied.
Now that was what I called a job well done.
I could already picture Alex and Sophie stumbling back to their so-called "love nest" after their night out, only to find everything gone. That sight would haunt them forever.
And this was just the beginning.
