That night, the Shaws finally received a call from the cops.

"Is this Richard Shaw? This is the police station," the officer said.

Richard was stuck in a meeting, his patience wearing thin as he frowned.

"Yeah, what do you want?" he replied.

"Someone found a backpack in the suburbs that might belong to your daughter, Stella Shaw. Could you come over and check if it's hers?" the officer continued.

Richard said flatly, "I'm busy right now. I'm in an important meeting. After it's over, I'll have my secretary head over."
