Wendy found me just as I'd finished straightening my clothes.

"Ms. Shea!" She threw herself at me, tears streaming down her cheeks. "How could he do this to you? How dare he!"

After Charles' birthday, I brought Wendy out to the country estate.

The day I lost the baby, rain poured down in sheets. I curled up on the bed, soaked in cold sweat from the pain.
