Our Captain Was Already Taken

Synopsis

When Hawks forward Sam Calloway notices that his captain, Anton Dragunov, has been looking lonely despite his playboy reputation, he rallies the team for a mission: Action Get Drago a SAP (Spouse and Partner). The Hawks' lineup, including Boone, Val, Jonas, Jett, Billy, and goalie Damien Cross, throw themselves into the matchmaking effort with varying degrees of enthusiasm and competence. Their first attempt pairs Anton with Zara, a gorgeous yoga instructor, but Anton dismisses her because "yoga isn't competitive enough." The second attempt introduces Asher, a talented musician friend of Leo Castello, but Anton brushes him off too. As the team grows frustrated, Sam has a sudden revelation at Rooks' bar: Anton has been secretly pining for none other than his lifelong rival, Cade Madden of the Cliffside Wanderers. The Hawks throw caution to the wind and confront Anton, urging him to make a move. To everyone's shock, Anton bets the entire team a thousand dollars each that he can go home with Cade that very night. Their flirty banter at the bar is electric, and Anton walks out with Cade to the stunned amazement of his teammates. But the biggest twist comes months later, when Cade joins the Hawks and reveals that he and Anton had been together since they were eighteen, and that "Elle," Anton's elusive on-again-off-again girlfriend, was Cade all along.
