Jasper doesn't feel the eyes on him the way Dimitri does.

Doesn't hear the hunger in strangers' voices.

Doesn't feel that sharp, territorial flare every time someone talks like they'd get a chance if Dimitri weren't in the way.

Jasper shifts closer, leaning down to press a kiss along Dimitri's jaw.

"I just figured it might be weird for you.

Going from everyone obsessing over you to—well."

"To you," Dimitri finishes, a lump rising in his throat.

It's easier to let Jasper think it's envy.
